Oakmont of San Antonio Heights is a brand new retirement community situated on a lush campus with lovely views, industry renowned dining, and endless on-site amenities, opened in the summer of 2014. We are looking to build a team of skilled professionals with a passion for working with seniors and a desire to play an important role working at the finest Senior Housing Community in the Upland area. We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Medication Technicians.
Position Summary
This Position provides assistance to residents with activities of daily living as well as medication management. Emergency First Aid may be required from time to time. Caregivers/Medication Technicians will be supervised by the Health Services Director and Wellness Nurse.
Primary Med Tech Duties
The Med Tech's role is providing routine daily medications to patients whose condition and drug regimen are stable. The aide has a list of patients and medications each day, and must administer medications in the indicated dosage at the correct time. If the Med Tech observes a change in the patients vital signs or behavior, or any other indication of adverse effects from a medication, it must be reported to the Health Services Director. When they're not actively dispensing medications or preparing medications for the next set of rounds, certified Med Techs revert to the duties they share with other Care Providers. Those consist of basic hands on nursing care, such as bathing and feeding patients, helping them with toileting & basic hygiene, or supervising their participation in exercise or physical therapy.
Essential Functions
Administer medications following established guidelines, policies and procedures, and state law.
Communicate professionally with Doctor's offices and pharmacies regarding orders and medications.
Assist residents with daily activities of daily living as specified in the resident's service and care plan.
Assist residents with bathing, dressing or undressing, grooming, transferring, toileting, and escort to and from appointments and other destinations.
Responsible for documenting & reporting any significant changes in resident's condition and report such changes to the Health Services Director.
Take vital signs and record information appropriately.
Responsible for helping residents participate in activity programs.
Monitor environment for safety to maintain well-being of residents
Incident Reporting.
Participate in the development of the written service and care plan as requested by the Health Service Director.
Ensure that the resident's and care plan is implemented.
Occasional light housekeeping.
Organizational Functions
Ensure that medications are administered following physicians orders, established company policy and procedure, and state law.
Attends all mandatory in-services as directed.
Consistently maintains complete confidentiality of all medical, financial, employee, computer, or other sensitive material which may jeopardize the privacy of others.
Demonstrates orientations towards excellent customer service in all interactions by conducting oneself in a cooperative, courteous, positive, and professional manner.
Displays sensitivity and awareness of others.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
Experience preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
Must be reliable, work extremely well independently, and also as a team member.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job. Good physical health, verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test.
Must pass criminal background check.
References required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
